Anthropic is reportedly weighing a new funding round of up to $50bn that would value the company at close to $1 trillion, according to a Financial Times report. The talks come weeks after earlier speculation about a $900bn round and would put Anthropic ahead of OpenAI on paper, fuelled by an annualised revenue run rate of around $30bn.
Anthropic's research institute published its full agenda, outlining four pillars: economic diffusion, threats and resilience, AI systems in the wild, and AI-driven R&D. The agenda formalises the work of teams brought together earlier in the year, including the Frontier Red Team, Societal Impacts and Economic Research.
