SpaceX S-1 reveals Anthropic is paying $1.25 billion a month for Claude compute

SpaceX's IPO prospectus has confirmed that Anthropic is on the hook for roughly $1.25 billion a month, or about $15 billion a year, for compute capacity at the Colossus data centres through May 2029. The contract takes Anthropic past $40 billion in total commitments to SpaceX and locks in inference capacity for Claude subscribers, while xAI's training workloads migrate to the newer Colossus 2 facility. Either side can walk away with 90 days' notice, but the filing makes Anthropic one of SpaceX's largest single customers outside the US government.

Anthropic tells investors it is on track for its first profitable quarter

Anthropic has told investors it expects to more than double revenue to about $10.9 billion in the June quarter and post a roughly $559 million operating profit, which would be its first profitable quarter ever. The company spent 71 cents on compute for every dollar of revenue in Q1 and expects that ratio to fall to 56 cents this quarter, though it warned profitability is unlikely to hold through the rest of 2026 as compute commitments ramp. The disclosure lands as Anthropic explores a potential listing later this year at a valuation approaching $1 trillion.

Code with Claude London ships Auto Mode, scheduled remote agents and legal connectors

Code with Claude London wrapped its main keynote on Tuesday with a focus on agent autonomy rather than a new model. Headline ships include Auto Mode, which lets Claude run internal safety checks and skip confirmations when they pass, and remote scheduled triggers that fire Claude Code sessions from cron, GitHub webhooks or APIs without a developer's laptop being open. Anthropic also rolled out more than twenty new MCP connectors and a dozen practice-area plugins aimed squarely at law firms and in-house legal teams.

Anthropic's secondary share market is now trading at prices that imply a valuation north of $1 trillion, according to data from secondary platforms tracked by Yahoo Finance, ahead of any formal IPO. The activity follows reports that the company is in discussions to raise around $30 billion at a $900 billion primary valuation, with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley lined up as bookrunners. Anthropic has separately warned investors against using unauthorised secondary platforms that claim to offer access to its shares.

Code with Claude wraps with new Problem Solvers series spotlighting founder builds

Alongside the keynote ships, Anthropic launched 'The Problem Solvers', a new series at claude.com/problem-solvers profiling founders tackling hard problems with Claude. The first wave includes pieces on Cognition's Devin team and other Claude-native startups demoed in London. The format gives Anthropic a more durable showcase for Claude-built products than the conference circuit, and a recurring slot to surface customer stories between official model launches.
