SpaceX S-1 reveals Anthropic is paying $1.25 billion a month for Claude compute
SpaceX's IPO prospectus has confirmed that Anthropic is on the hook for roughly $1.25 billion a month, or about $15 billion a year, for compute capacity at the Colossus data centres through May 2029. The contract takes Anthropic past $40 billion in total commitments to SpaceX and locks in inference capacity for Claude subscribers, while xAI's training workloads migrate to the newer Colossus 2 facility. Either side can walk away with 90 days' notice, but the filing makes Anthropic one of SpaceX's largest single customers outside the US government.
